1. Homemade Vicks VapoRub recipe to fight winter ailments using natural ingredients:

You will need:

  • 120 ml of olive oil infused with pine needles (place pine needles in a glass jar, cover with olive oil, and let infuse for 4 weeks)
  • 3 tbsp of shea butter
  • 30 g of beeswax
  • 20 drops of eucalyptus globulus essential oil
  • 20 drops of lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops of lemon essential oil
  • 10 drops of rosemary essential oil

2. Instructions:

In a double boiler, place the olive oil infused with pine needles, then add the shea butter and beeswax.

Once the mixture becomes homogeneous, remove from heat and add the essential oils.

You can test the consistency of the mixture by using a spoon placed in the freezer: dip the tip of the spoon into the mixture and check if the consistency suits you. If not, you can add more beeswax.

Place the mixture in a jar with a lid.

As with the Vicks VapoRub sold in pharmacies, the use of this homemade Vicks Vaporub is not recommended for pregnant women and children under 6 years old. Inhalation through steaming (breathing in the vapor from a bowl of hot water with one or two teaspoons of the product) is not recommended for children under 12 years old.
